El Dia de los Muertas! – Winter 2009

Every year the Mexican holiday, the Day of the Dead, is celebrated at Loaves & Fishes.  Side-By-Side coordinates the annual service where the names of all our deceased guests from the past are read.  On November 2nd this year, 528 names were read.   As is the custom in Mexico, traditional marigolds were handed out to those in attendance and upbeat music was played to make the occasion festive.  So far in 2009, Side-By-Side officiated at 27 memorial services for our deceased guests.  It is good to remember them as God’s own children.
