Side-By-Side Steering Committee Changes – Spring 2009
The Side-By-Side Steering Committee underwent significant changes in the past year. Three very hard workers reluctanatly said good-bye to their work with us, for now. They are the Rev. Becky Goodwin whose husband, Chuck Myer, died last year after a long, sad struggle with brain cancer. Becky resigned in order to tend to her grieving, to her children and to pastoring of the Rancho Cordova UM Church. Wesley Chesbro became inactive on our committee since winning a seat on the State Assembly representing the First District. Loretta Fransham found that an increased work load, family and church responsibilities are taking all her time and energy. We thank each one for all their hard work and contributions to the committee over the years. Our prayers are with them.
The good news is that we have two new, bright and involved members on the committee who are blessed with non-profit and organizational wisdom and experience: Tara Thronson, from the technical and corporate world, and Kimberly La Perle, formerly of Habitat for Humanity in Southern California. We welcome them and the gifts they bring to the Side-By-Side Steering Committee.
